This is a review of “Sustainable immigration and Cultural Integration”, a book written by Wolfgang Kasper. The author sees economic criteria as the only right approach to creating an immigration policy. Kasper proposes to put this economic approach to practice by auctioning the right to migrate to developed countries. The money raised in such auctions would be used to cover the cost of integration of immigrants. The author borrows from the book to make general comments and to outline possible lessons that could be learned from the book as regards problems with immigration in the Czech Republic.
