As a part of ”Media and minorities: the media image of foreigners and ethnic and national minorities in the Czech Republic,“ the Multicultural Center Prague created a new training course entitled “Interculturalism and the media“. This one-day course has been designed for elementary and secondary school teachers of civics and related subjects in the Czech Republic. Its goal is to train and educate teachers so that they will be “media-literate in the area of multiculturalism. During the course, teachers from all over the Czech Republic had the opportunity to think about the role of the media in creating the public image of minorities and foreigners. During the course, teachers were also able to consult their opinions and knowledge about the subject and utilize their active course participation and discussions to transfer what they learned into their own classroom. Results of the analysis of the media image of foreigners in the Czech Republic were presented to teachers during the course.
