The ‘Out of Visegrad’ blogs started way back in 2006 with a small group of labour migrants from Visegrad countries writing about their experience of working in the west. They proved a popular and interested addition to the more scientific analyses offered on migrationonline.cz and thus were continued with three new bloggers from Central and Eastern Europe.

Klara from the Czech Republic moved to Italy last year and has been detailing her job searching, the struggles to learn a new language and her integration into the host community. Meanwhile, Peter from Slovakia recalls his beginnings in Northern Ireland, the different jobs he went though and his relationship with locals. Finally Elena from Bulgaria describes what its like to live away from home, work in a job below her qualifications and celebrating birthdays abroad. The bloggers will continue to detail their experiences in the coming months, your comments and questions to them are always much appreciated.
