Migrants, Media and Society
The first day of the Conference will focus on greater
inclusion of migrants in the host societies in the Czech Republic, Europe and
the USA. We would like to discuss the possibilities for migrants' inclusion,
especially through the use of social media.
The second day of the Conference will focus on social cohesion and
intercultural dialogue at the local level and in multicultural neighbourhoods.
Social media will be presented as one of a numerous tools for supporting social
cohesion and institutional cooperation, and for increasing the quality of life
among residents in multicultural neighbourhood. At the same time, social media
will be presented as a tool for improving the overall image of these
neighbourhoods. Prague 13 will be presented as the pilot case study in the
Czech Republic.
The Conference will be attended by the speakers and project partners from
Germany, the Netherlands and Great Britain, also by the journalists from
America New Media and the lecturers from University of New York in Prague.
