Gender Dimension of the New Bulgaria's Migration - Comments on Empirical Data
Bulgaria with its proportionally high number of potential and actual female migrants has seen rapid changes in this field since 1989, with around nine percent of the population emigrating since the collapse of authoritarian rule. This article attempts to explore some of the issues that surround gender and migration throughout this period with a detailed analysis of statistical information on both potential and actual migrants from Bulgaria.
