This is a reaction to Václav Klaus’s review (see related document). The author starts by assessing the effectiveness of funding going toward measures restricting illegal migration from Mexico to the United States. This cost is juxtaposed with tax revenues from regular immigrants in the UK and the US. The author attacks the illusory concept of cultural homogeneity and puts emphasis on the contribution of cultural diversity to our civilization. The article ends with a consideration of the reserves of a potential liberalization (or rationalization) of the government’s regulatory mechanisms in the area of migration and its contribution to migrants as well as the economy of target countries.
