The author explores three questions relating to asylum procedures in the UK: Is the UK’s immigration policy ‘soft’? Do asylum applicants come mainly for economic reasons? Do asylum applicant bring disease into the country? These myths are analyzed and demythologized or put into an appropriate context using statistical data and other relevant information.
