RACE in Europe (Response against Criminal Exploitation)
The project focuses on trafficking into forced criminal activity and forced begging, forms of trafficking that currently receive little attention or transnational co-operation. Although being highly vulnerable, children and adults trafficked for these purposes are often regarded as perpetrators of crime rather than as victims. The project provides practitioners, policy-makers and decision-makers with a more informed knowledge base with which to develop appropriate and victim-centred strategies for tackling trafficking for forced criminal activities and begging, in relation to prevention, protection and enforcement. This international project is coordinated by Anti-Slavery International.
